Not a Rottweiller

This sentence from The Search for Significance made a lot of sense to me:
If making achievements and gaining approval are our primary means for obtaining self-worth, we will tenaciously hold to them until we are absolutely convinced that only God's love and acceptance of us can ultimately meet this need.
I don't want to be a rottweiller holding tight to a lie. I want the freedom of His grace.

Get a strong ax and begin immediately to chop at the root of the problem. Remember; it was faith that stopped Jesus in His tracks on multiple occasions (look it up), and your faith will be THE key that unlocks the blessings of freedom for you as well. Remember; "You have not because you asked not." I think begging is even better than asking, but do it in faith always. Stop Him in His tracks.

Hey Erin! I just got caught up on all of your posts. I just want you to know how much I love and appreciate your openness and honesty. It's so refreshing! I can't wait to read how God continues to work in your life. And you've inspired me to be a bit more transparent in my own blogging. I think it might help me feel better about some things. :-)
